DTC 1: SAS Control Module Poor Connection

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Remove negative battery cable. Wait more than one minute for back-up power supply to dissipate. Turn up floor covering to access SAS control module. If all SAS control module connectors are securely connected, go to next step. If SAS control module connector are not securely connected, reconnect properly.
  2. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Inspect SAS control module connector No. 2 poor connection detection bar. See Figure. If poor connection detection bar is okay and this is a present DTC, replace SAS control module. See SAS CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If poor connection detection bar is okay and this is a past DTC, test is complete. If poor connection detection bar is damaged, replace wiring harness.
