Disassembly & Inspection
- Use air pressure to remove low-reverse brake. See Figure . Check for worn drive (friction) and driven plates. See Figure . Drive plate minimum thickness is .055" (1.40 mm). Check snap ring for wear and cracks. Check for deformed or detached spring and retainer assembly. Check for broken or weak springs.
- Check for spring free length of .711" (18.07 mm). Check piston for damage or wear and seal contact area in transaxle case for damage.
