Input/Output Check Mode

NOTE: DTCs are accessed in numerical order. If a lower number DTC is by-passed and needs to be accessed, discontinue test and start over.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Open driver's side door. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect negative battery cable. Within 30 seconds of reconnecting negative battery cable, turn ignition switch to ON position, press driver's side door switch 3 times and press odometer/tripmeter switch 3 times. Odometer/tripmeter should display DTC 00. If DTC 00 is not displayed, repeat this step from beginning. If DTC 00 is displayed, go to next step.
  2. Press and release odometer/tripmeter switch until all DTCs are displayed. See DTC DEFINITIONS  table. Inspect DTC by following procedures under appropriate diagnostic test. See DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  . To cancel input/output check mode, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. After more than 30 seconds, reconnect negative battery cable.
