Timing Belt Removal/Installation: Notes
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the engine coolant. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT
.
- Remove the front suspension tower bar.
- Remove the air pipe.
- Remove the drive belt.
- Remove the CKP sensor.
- Remove the high-tension lead and ignition coil.
- Remove the spark plug. See SPARK PLUG REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Inspect the air gap between the crankshaft position sensor.
- Inspect the engine oil level.
- Start the engine, and inspect the following and adjust if necessary:
- Pulley and belt for runout or contact
- Engine oil and engine coolant for leakage
- Ignition timing
- Operation of auxiliary parts
