Removal & Installation (MPV)

WARNING: When the engine and intake-air system are hot, they can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the intake-air system.
WARNING: Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
WARNING: Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove in the order indicated in the illustration. See Fig 1. Remove the fuse box, battery, and battery tray before removing the fresh-air duct. Remove the front mudguard (LH) before removing the resonance chamber. Disconnect the fuel injector connector and fuel hoses before removing the fuel distributor. See FUEL RAILS & INJECTORS  under FUEL SYSTEMS.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Tighten the intake manifold bolts in the order indicated in the illustration. See Figure. Tighten the dynamic chamber bolts in the order indicated in the illustration. See Fig 2.
