Symptom Troubleshooting - Automatic Transaxle: Foreword

When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator light (MIL) indication, O/D OFF indicator light (4AT)/AT warning light (Sport AT) flashing, and PCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to following flowchart.
- If the DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC. (See DTC TABLE .)
- If the DTC does not exist and the MIL does not illuminate and no O/D OFF indicator light (4AT)/AT warning light (Sport AT) flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE .)
