Shift-Lock Inspection
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine off).
- Verify that the selector lever is in the P position.
- Without the brake pedal depressed, verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted from the P position.
- Depress the brake pedal and verify that the selector lever can be shifted from the P position.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the selector lever component. (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT INSPECTION .)
