Torque Converter Flushing
CAUTION:
- Do not use mineral spirits or water-based solvents to clean the torque converter. Damage to the transaxle or torque converter can occur. Use only clean automatic transaxle fluid that is recommended for this transaxle.
- Partially fill the torque converter using clean automatic transaxle fluid.
- Hand agitate the converter, then thoroughly drain the fluid.
- Repeat this procedure until the converter is clean.
- After flushing, drain the remainder of the fluid.
- Add 1.9 liters (2 quarts) of clean automatic transaxle fluid and agitate by hand.
- Thoroughly drain the converter.
- Refill the torque converter with clean automatic transaxle fluid and install into transaxle.
