DTC P2122: Notes

DTC P2122 (LF, L3) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P2122 Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor No. 1 circuit low input
DETECTION CONDITION
  • The PCM monitors the input voltage from APP sensor No. 1 when the engine is running. If the input voltage is less than 0.12 V  , the PCM determines that the APP sensor No. 1 circuit input voltage is low.

Diagnostic support note
  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in the first drive cycle.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
  • The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • APP sensor No. 1 malfunction
  • Connector or terminal malfunction
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between APP sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 1AL(1), (3), 1AW(2)
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between APP sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 1AL(1), (3), 1AW(2)
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between APP sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 1 AP(1), (3), 1Y(2)
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between APP sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 1 AP(1), (3), 1Y(2)
  • PCM malfunction
