Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
  2. Position the watershield aside.
  3. Remove the bolt and the door glass run rear channel.
    • To install, tighten to 12 N-m (1.2 kgf-m, 9 ft-lbf).
  4. Disconnect the door lock cylinder actuating rod from the front door latch.
  5. Unclip the exterior door handle actuating rod from the exterior door handle.
  6. Remove the exterior door handle actuating rod.
  7. Remove the 3 front door latch screws.
    • To install, tighten to 12 N-m (1.2 kgf-m, 9 ft-lbf).
  8. Disconnect the door ajar switch electrical connector.
    • If equipped, disconnect the door lock actuator electrical connector.
  9. Position the door latch assembly aside.
  10. Remove the front door latch cable watershield.
  11. Disconnect the front door latch cable.
  12. If necessary, remove the door latch push button rod.
  13. Remove the front door latch.
  14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
