Disassembly Note
- Remove differential case from the front drive axle housing; See
AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL FRONT DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY
.
- Remove the ring gear.
- Remove the eight bolts.
- Use a drift that will bottom out in the ring gear bolt holes to separate the ring gear from the differential case.

- Drive out the differential pinion shaft roll pin from the differential case.

- Remove the differential pinion shaft.

NOTE:
- Differential side gears may fall out after removing the differential pinion gears.
- Rotate the differential pinion gears to the differential case window and remove them and the differential pinon thrust washers.

- Assemble Pinion and Carrier Bearing Puller ST

- Position Pinion and Carrier Bearing Puller ST
49 UN01 029.

NOTE:
- The differential bearings must be installed on the same side they were removed from.
- Use Pinion and Carrier Bearing Puller ST
49 UN01 029 to remove the differential bearing.
- Repeat the procedure for the other side.
