Normal Operation

Under normal operation, the driver window control switch is supplied voltage through circuit (GY/Y). Ground for the switch is provided through circuit (B/L).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

POWER WINDOWS REFERENCE - PINPOINT TEST 1

PINPOINT TEST 1 ALL POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY THE PASSENGER WINDOW OPERATES FROM THE PASSENGER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
  • Key OFF.
  • Attempt to operate the passenger power window from the passenger window control switch.
  • Does the passenger power window operate?
Yes See PINPOINT TEST 2: SINGLE POWER WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE - DRIVER POWER WINDOW  .
No Go to next step.
2 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Driver Window Control Switch connector 0912-201.
  • Key in ON position.
  • Measure the voltage between driver window control switch 0912-201 pin 7, circuit (GY/Y), harness side and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes Go to next step.
No Go to PINPOINT TEST 4: THE DELAYED ACCESSORY RELAY IS INOPERATIVE/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY  .
3 CHECK THE GROUND TO THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Measure the resistance between driver window control switch 0912-201 pin 2, circuit (B/L), harness side and ground.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new driver window control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
No REPAIR circuit (B/L) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
