Manual Transaxle Shift Mechanism Removal/Installation: Notes
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.5] .)
- Remove the battery and battery cover and battery tray and battery bracket. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.5] .)
- Remove the tunnel member. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the TWC. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the exhaust system insulator as shown in the figure. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the side wall. (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the shift lever knob as shown in the figure.
- Remove the front console component. (See FRONT CONSOLE COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- After installation, verify that the shift lever can be shifted smoothly into each position.
