NOTE:
- ATF seeping radiates from ATF leak source.
- Identify the type of seeping oil referring to "SERVICE CAUTIONS, Oil Leakage Inspection" in the general information.
- To prevent misdiagnosis, remove any grease or dirt from the seep location and verify the location of the seeping after driving the vehicle.
- ATF leaking from oil seal (1)
- Oil seal lip burning
- Oil seal lip wear due to foreign matter adhering
- Oil seal damage, and wear in contact area (to shaft) due to shaft runout
- ATF leaking from transaxle case surface (2)
- There are pin holes in the transaxle case (when cast).
- ATF leaking from silicone sealant (3)
- Sealant peeling and burning
- ATF leaking from O-ring (4)
- O-ring burning
- Looseness in part installation
- Incorrect installation (O-ring is not seated to installation surface correctly.)
- ATF leaking from washer (4)
- Looseness in part installation
- Incorrect installation (Washer is not seated to installation surface correctly.)
- ATF malfunction (Leaking from breather)
- Incorrect installation (Washer is not seated to installation surface correctly.)
- Water penetration into ATF
- ATF deterioration (Anti-foaming performance decreases and liquid level increases.)
