Trunk Lid Release Actuator Inspection

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the trunk lid recess. (See TRUNK LID RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the trunk lid trim. (See TRUNK LID TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the trunk lid latch and release actuator. (See TRUNK LID LATCH AND RELEASE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Press in the latch lever of the trunk lid latch and release actuator using a flathead screwdriver, and set it to the latched condition.

  6. Connect terminal A to the positive battery voltage, connect terminal B to the ground, and verify that the latch lever is released and the condition changes to the unlatch condition.
    • If the operation cannot be verified, replace the trunk lid latch and release actuator.
