Steering Switch Removal/Installation

WARNING:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more  . (Refer to NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
  3. Grasp the shaded areas shown in the figure, and pull the steering switch in the direction of the arrow in the order of (1), (2) while detaching tabs A, tabs B.

  4. Insert the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure, while pressing the clip tabs in the direction of the arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clips in the direction of the arrow (2) to detach the clip tabs from the steering wheel.

  5. Disconnect the steering switch connector.
  6. Remove the steering switch.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
