Operating Inspection

Verify that the engine starts only when the selector lever is in the P position or N position with the brake pedal depressed and that the engine does not start with the selector lever in other positions.
- If there is any malfunction, adjust the TR switch. (See TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT .)
Verify that the back-up lights turn on and the R position warning alarm sound is activated only when the selector lever is in the R position. In addition, verify that they do not operate in other positions.
- If there is any malfunction, adjust the TR switch. (See TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT .)
Shift the selector lever and verify that the shift position indication and selector lever position match.
