Oil Cooler Removal/Installation: Notes

WARNING:

Do not perform the servicing while the ATF is hot. Otherwise, it could cause severe burns or serious injury.
Always wear protective eye wear when using the air compressor. If the air compressor is used, any particles of dirt or soiling could spatter and get into the eyes.

NOTE:

After removing the oil cooler, check for dirt or foreign objects mixed into the ATF and flush the oil cooler if necessary.

Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the air cleaner component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
Remove the aerodynamic under cover. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR 2.5] .)
Remove in the order shown in the figure.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Add engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR 2.5] .)
Add ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)

Perform the mechanical system test. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST .)
