Vacuum Pump Removal/Installation: Notes

WARNING:
  • A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the exhaust system.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  3. Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  4. Set the PCM wiring harness out of the way. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  5. Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump. (See VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove in the order shown in the table.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
