Visual Inspection
CAUTION:
- Do not disconnect the connector between the PM sensor control module and PM sensor. Otherwise, it could adversely affect the PM sensor control module.
- To prevent a malfunction, do not clean the PM sensor.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the PM sensor. (See PM SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Visually inspect the PM sensor for the following malfunction:
- Damage, cracks, soiling
- Sensor end clogging
- Rusted sensor terminal
- Bent sensor terminal
- Damage to exterior of wiring harness
- If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the PM sensor. (See PM SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
