PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

  1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
  2. Verify the ambient temperature.

    Ambient temperature is below freezing 

    • After warming up the engine for approx.1 hour, go to the next step.

      Ambient temperature is above freezing 

    • Go to the next step.
  3. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  4. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  5. Using the M-MDS, verify that the value of the ratio of remaining DEF (PID: RRDC_AG_RMN) is 90% or less. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [DOSING CONTROL UNIT (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)] .)

    90% or more 

    1. Switch the ignition off.
    2. Drain the DEF until it reaches 90% or less. (See DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) REPLACEMENT .)
    3. Go to the next step.

      90% or less 

      • Switch the ignition OFF, and then go to the next step.
  6. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  7. Using the M-MDS, display the ratio of remaining DEF (PID: RRDC_AG_RMN). (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [DOSING CONTROL UNIT (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)] .)
  8. Verify that the value of PID RRDC_AG_RMN is 90% or more.
