Front Seat Back Trim Removal/Installation

WARNING:
CAUTION:
  • If the slide lever is operated after the front seat is removed, the left/right slide positions will deviate and the adjuster unit could be damaged after the front seat is installed. After removing a front seat, do not operate the slide lever.

  • Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a front seat.
  • When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (Without power seat system) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the fasteners and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system/with position memory system)

  4. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure below and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system/without position memory system)
  5. Disconnect the connectors shown in the figure below.

  6. Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure below and detach it from hook B.

  7. Remove the clip in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure below and remove the lumbar support lever in the direction of the arrow (2). (With manual lumbar support lever)

  8. Unzip the zippers.
  9. Pull out the pin in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure below.

  10. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrows (2) shown in the figure below, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (3) with the tabs pressed, and remove the side air bag module securing belt from the front seat back frame.
  11. Pull the wiring harnesses shown in the figure below out through the holes in the front seat back pad.

  12. Pull out the front seat back pad, and the front seat back trim and front seat back warmer wiring harness (with seat warmer system) toward the front of the front seat.

  13. Remove the hooks.

  14. While pressing the tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure below, pull the pole guides in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the pole guides from the front seat back frame.

  15. Lift up the front seat back trim and front seat back pad in the direction of the arrow as a single unit and remove it from the front seat back frame.

  16. Install in the reverse order of removal.
