Vacuum Pump Removal/Installation: Notes

WARNING:
  • A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the exhaust system.
  1. Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .)
  2. Remove the following parts as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .)
    • Fresh-air duct
    • Resonance chamber
    • Air hose
    • Air cleaner cover
    • Air cleaner element
    • Air cleaner case
  3. Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .)
  4. Set the PCM wiring harness out of the way.
  5. Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump. (See VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
