Steering Shift Switch Removal/Installation

WARNING:
NOTE:
  • When removing the driver-side air bag module, it is necessary to rotate the steering wheel. If the ignition has been switched off with the driver's door closed, the steering wheel will be locked. Perform the procedure from Steps  13 so that the steering wheel will not be locked.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)

  3. Remove the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the steering shift switch wiring harness connector.

  5. Remove the screw.

  6. Disconnect the steering shift switch connector.

  7. Release the tab shown in the figure and remove the steering shift switch.

  8. Using a precision flathead screwdriver, release the tab.

  9. Lift the steering wheel cover up using your hand and remove the steering shift switch wiring harness from the clearance.

  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
