DTC B1B42:14 (PARKING SENSOR CONTROL MODULE) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Description Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) circuit malfunction
Detection condition
  • The parking sensor control module detected a front ultrasonic sensor (LH) circuit malfunction with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
Fail-safe Not applicable
Possible cause
  • Front bumper external appearance damage or incorrect front bumper installation
    • Abnormal front bumper installation angle
  • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) malfunction
  • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) connector or terminal malfunction
  • Parking sensor control module connector or terminal malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) terminal A-Parking sensor control module terminal J
      • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) terminal B-Parking sensor control module terminal K
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) terminal A-Parking sensor control module terminal J
      • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) terminal B-Parking sensor control module terminal K
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
    • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) terminal A-Parking sensor control module terminal J
      • Front ultrasonic sensor (LH) terminal B-Parking sensor control module terminal K
  • Parking sensor control module malfunction
