Front Shock Absorber And Coil Spring Removal/Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Remove the front shock absorber and steering knuckle component. (See WHEEL HUB, STEERING KNUCKLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
  3. Secure the front shock absorber and steering knuckle component in a vise.
  4. Remove the bolt and the nut shown in the figure.

  5. Install the SST to the connection area of the front shock absorber and coil spring and the steering knuckle.

  6. Rotate the SST 90° and disconnect the front shock absorber and coil spring from the steering knuckle.
  7. Remove the front shock absorber and coil spring and the steering knuckle.
