Shift Panel Removal/Installation: ATX
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the selector lever knob. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.
- Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure, move it in the direction of the arrow, and remove the clips.
- Hold the shaded areas of the boot shown in the figure, pull it in the direction of the arrow, and detach clips.
- Remove the shift panel in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. while detaching guides.
- Disconnect the commander switch connector.
- Disconnect the electric parking brake switch connector.
- Disconnect the indicator connector.
- While pressing the tab in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press it up in the direction of arrow (2) and detach the tabs from the shift panel.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE:
- When replacing the shift panel, remove the following parts:
- Electric parking brake switch (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Commander switch (See COMMANDER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Drive selection switch (See DRIVE SELECTION SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN Y)] .) (See DRIVE SELECTION SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (VIN M)] .)
- When replacing the shift panel, remove the following parts:
