Evaporator Temperature Sensor Inspection (Auto A/C)

NOTE:
- Inspect the evaporator temperature sensor when it is installed to the A/C unit.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- side wall (passenger-side) (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
- Set the fan speed to MAX HI.
- Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.
- Set to the RECIRCULATE mode.
- Turn the A/C switch off.
- Close all doors and windows.
- Wait for 5 min.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.
- Measure the temperature at the blower inlet.
- Measure the resistance between the evaporator temperature sensor terminals A and B.
- If the resistance is not as shown in the figure, replace the evaporator temperature sensor. (See A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .)
