- BCM detects an open circuit in hood latch switch circuit with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

- Hood latch switch connector or terminal malfunction
- Open circuit in wiring harness between hood latch switch terminal B and body ground
- Hood latch switch malfunction
- BCM connector or terminal malfunction
- Open circuit in wiring harness between hood latch switch terminal A and BCM terminal 3W
- BCM malfunction
