Vacuum Pump Removal/Installation: Notes

Location of use: Vacuum pump
WARNING:
- A hot engine and intake air system can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the intake air system.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Remove the following parts as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5]

- Air hose
- Air cleaner cover
- Air cleaner element
- Fresh-air duct
- Air cleaner case
- Disconnect the clip from the bracket.
- Remove the bolts
- Move the battery tray, PCM and wiring harness toward the front of the vehicle to the position where the vacuum pump can be removed.
- Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump. (See VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
