Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) Removal/Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Mazda CX-5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • The connectivity master unit (CMU) has stored vehicle specification information.
  • A new connectivity master unit (CMU) does not have any stored vehicle specification information.
  • When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) after replacing the connectivity master unit (CMU), the unit reads and stores the vehicle specification information sent via CAN communication from the instrument cluster.
  • The Bluetooth®pairing information stored in the connectivity master unit (CMU) cannot be written to a new connectivity master unit (CMU). Therefore, the Bluetooth®pairing information will be eliminated if the connectivity master unit (CMU) is replaced. Before replacing the connectivity master unit (CMU), explain to the customer that the Bluetooth®pairing resetting is required.
