Front Seat Back Trim Removal/Installation: Notes

CAUTION:
  • After the front seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the front seat is reinstalled with the left/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. (With manual seat)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the head restraint.
  3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the fasteners and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system)

  5. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system)
  6. Disconnect the connectors.
  7. Remove the wiring harness clip.
  8. Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and detach it from hook B.

  9. Unzip the zippers.
  10. Peel back the front seat back trim and unhook the hooks.

  11. While pressing the tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the pole guides in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the pole guides from the front seat back frame.

  12. Pull out the pin in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

  13. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrows (2) shown in the figure, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (3) with the tabs pressed, and remove the side air bag module securing belt from the front seat back frame.
  14. Pull out the front seat back pad, and the front seat back trim and front seat back warmer wiring harness (with seat warmer system) toward the front of the front seat.

  15. Lift up the front seat back trim and front seat back pad in the direction of the arrow as a single unit and remove it from the front seat back frame.
  16. Remove the C-rings, and then remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

    NOTE:
    • The position and number of C-rings differ depending on the type of seat.
  17. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM INSTALLATION NOTE .)
