Rear A/C Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY .) (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING .)
  3. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  4. Remove the following parts:
    1. Selector lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Selector lever component (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Selector lever bracket (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Keyless antenna (center) (See KEYLESS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Floor under cover No. 2 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Floor under cover No. 1 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Tunnel member

    13. Strut bar
    14. Insulator (middle) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  5. Remove the bolt.

  6. Disconnect the rear cooler pipe. Do not allow compressor oil to spill.
    CAUTION:
    • If moisture or foreign matter enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise or other malfunctions could occur. Always plug open fittings immediately after removing any refrigeration cycle parts.
  7. Disconnect the rear heater hose No. 1.

  8. Disconnect the rear heater hose No. 2.
  9. Disconnect the rear blower motor connector.

  10. Disconnect the power MOSFET connector.
  11. Disconnect the rear airflow mode actuator connector.
  12. Disconnect the rear air mix actuator connector.
  13. Detach the clips.

  14. Remove the nuts.

  15. Move the rear A/C unit in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, and remove the rear A/C unit. Do not allow compressor oil to spill.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not hold the rear blower motor part and mode link part as shown in the figure when removing/installing the rear A/C unit. Otherwise, the rear blower motor and mode link could be damaged.

  16. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Rear A/C Unit Installation Note (1) .) (See Rear A/C Unit Installation Note (2) .)
  17. Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  18. Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST .)
