Resistance Inspection (A/F Sensor Heater)

WARNING:
  • A hot engine and exhaust system can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the exhaust system.
CAUTION:
  • Do not allow flammable objects such as the taping for bundling the wiring harness to come into contact with the exhaust system such as the exhaust manifold and silencer which reach high temperatures. Otherwise, it could cause fire damage.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Lift up the vehicle.
  3. Remove the tire (FR). (See GENERAL PROCEDURES (SUSPENSION) .)
  4. Partially peel back the front mudguard No. 2 (RH). (See FRONT MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the front splash shield No. 1 (RH). (See FRONT SPLASH SHIELD No. 1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the front crossmember under cover. (See FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  7. Disconnect the A/F sensor connector. (See AIR FUEL RATIO (A/F) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  8. Measure the resistance between A/F sensor terminals A and E.
