Diagnostic Procedure

DSC OPERATES FREQUENTLY/DSC DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY (DSC) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY DSC HU/CM DTCs
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the DSC HU/CM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [DSC] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE INSTALLATION CONDITION
  • Verify the SAS control module installation condition.
  • Is SAS control module (yaw rate sensor, low-G sensor) securely installed?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Install the SAS control module securely and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
3 VERIFY SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE PERFORMANCE CONDITION FOR DSC RELATED PARTS
  • After replacing the DSC HU/CM and the SAS control module, has the sensor initialization procedure for the DSC related parts been performed?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Perform the sensor initialization procedure for the DSC related parts, and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(See DSC RELATED PARTS SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
4 VERIFY TIRE CONDITION
  • Verify the tire pressure and specifications of the tire.
  • Are the tire pressure and specifications of the tire normal? (Refer to WHEEL AND TIRE SPECIFICATION in service information.)
Yes Go to the next step.
No Adjust the tire pressure or replace with a specified tire and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(1)5 VERIFY ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION  Yes Refer to Action for Non-repeatable Malfunction to find the malfunctioning location.
(See TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE .)
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
(Refer to REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?
Yes Complete the symptom troubleshooting.
Explain repair contents to customer.
No Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
  • When performing an asterisked
    (1) troubleshooting inspection, first verify the damage and connection status of the connectors and terminals, then perform the inspection while shaking the wiring harness (cause of malfunction may be due to poor connection of connectors, terminals, or wiring harness). If there is a malfunction in the connectors or terminals, securely connect, repair, or perform replacement.
