Rear Combination Light Removal/Installation: Notes

NOTE:
  • Fogging or condensation on the inside of the rear combination lights may occur because of a natural phenomenon occurring as a result of a temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the combination lights. However, it has no effect on the light performance because the phenomenon is resolved when the temperature inside the rear combination light rises after the rear turn light is turned on or a period of time has elapsed.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Third-row seat cushion (See THIRD-ROW SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Third-row seat back component (See THIRD-ROW SEAT BACK COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Perform the procedure for partially peeling back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove using the procedure shown in the figure.
    • The figure shows the left side (same as right side).

    TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

    2 Nut - 5 N.m {52 kgf.cm, 45 in.lbf}
    3 Service hole cover (See SERVICE HOLE COVER REMOVAL NOTE ) - -
    4 Screw - 1.5 N.m {15 kgf.cm, 13 in.lbf}
    5 Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL NOTE ) - -
    6 Packing Replacement part -
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Perform the power Liftgate (PLG) initialization procedure. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
  7. Initialize power outer mirror retract/return function. (See POWER OUTER MIRROR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
