MERCEDES-BENZ Thermostatic Air Cleaner: Operation

When temperatures are below 59°F, a thermostat located in the air cleaner snorkel positions an air flap to permit warm air only to enter the air cleaner. At temperatures between 59° F and 82°F/the flap is positioned so warm and cold air are mixed. At temperatures of 82°F or above, the flap is positioned so only cold air will enter air cleaner.
