Federal vehicles have a vacuum controlled EGR system. California versions use a vacuum and electronically controlled EGR system with electronic control unit (ECU). The EGR system consists of an EGR valve, thermal vacuum valve, switch-over valve, throttle valve housing, corrugated tube to return gases and several orifices.
