1) ADAPTOR CABLE FOR COMPRESSION PRESSURE RECORDER

The adaptor cable is required to establish a good connection for the compression pressure recorder. It is to be connected between the compression pressure recorder and the starter connection (terminal 50) of the wiring harness. The use of this adaptor cable will prevent short circuits and/or faulty contacts which could cause the destruction of other electrical components.

To prepare the adaptor cable for use, the black alligator clip of the compression pressure recorder must be exchanged for the male single-pole connector supplied with the adaptor cable. To replace the alligator clip with the male single-pole connector, first cut off the alligator clip from the compression pressure recorder cable. Separate the plastic insulator from the single-pole connector by warming the plastic in hot water and pulling them apart with 2 pairs of pliers. Slip the insulator onto the wire of which the alligator clip was cut off. Solder that wire to the single-pole connector. Push the insulator over the pin connector.

On vehicles with screw-type cable connectors, the alligator clip of either the electrical connector kit 201 589 00 99 00 or of the accessory kit 201 589 00 99 24 must be connected between the starter connection (terminal 50) and the single-pole connector of the compression pressure recorder, instead of the adaptor cable.

2) TEST CABLE WITH 16 AMPERE FUSE

To prevent electrical shorts when bridging contacts during troubleshooting, e.g. fuel pump relay or pre-glow relay, a test cable with 16 Ampere fuse must be used. This test cable is to be used in conjunction with the electrical connector kit 201 589 00 99 00.
