Engine Oiling System: Notes

Engine lubrication is provided by a gear-type oil pump which supplies filtered oil to a main oil gallery. Oil is distributed from the main gallery to main and connecting rod bearings. Pistons, pins and pin bushings are splash lubricated.

A vertical oil passage from the main gallery supplies oil to intermediate sprocket shaft and bearings. Another oil passage supplies oil to oil pump drive shaft and helical gear.

A vertical passage supplies oil to front camshaft bearing. An external oil tube attached to the camshaft bearing lubricates other camshaft bearings and rocker arms.
