A. VEHICLES IN THE JACKSONVILLE REGION ONLY

During last summer the Jacksonville region experienced a higher amount of DTC 19 complaints than the other regions due to higher temperatures and humidity levels. Therefore, upon arrival of vehicles for service or repair, check the LH-SFI control module long term adaption value using the Hand-Held Tester (HHT). If the long term adaption value (upper lower part load) is under 0.92. or the customer had an earlier complaint with the check engine malfunction indicator light (MIL) on and code 19, the LH-SFI control module must be replaced. All remaining model year 1995 or earlier vehicles in dealer inventory must also have the LH-SFI control module replaced (DTC readout of LH-SFI control module, Diagnostic module, and readout of long term adaption is not required for vehicles in dealer inventory or vehicles with prior DTC 19 complaint).

B. VEHICLES IN ALL REGIONS

In the event of a customer arriving at the dealer with a check engine (MIL) on and DTC 19 stored in the diagnostic module memory, read out the long term adaption value using the HHT, verify that other related problems vacuum leak etc.) are not present, replace the LH-SFI control module.
