Test 10: Left Front Window Switch Opening Function Circuit

  1. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 5 at breakout box.
  2. When left front window switch is in rest position, battery voltage should exist. When left front window switch is in OPEN position (first detent), less than one volt should exist. When left front window switch is in one-touch open position (second detent), less than one volt should exist.
  3. If voltage is as specified and left front window does not open, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace convenience control module. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace left front window switch.
  4. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between terminals No. 2 and 5 at breakout box.
  5. When left front window switch is in rest position, resistance should be 20,000 ohms. When left front window switch is in either OPEN position (first or second detent), 0-2 ohms should exist. If resistance is as specified and left front window does not open, or resistance is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace left front window switch.
