Test 11: Left Front Window Switch Closing Function Circuit

  1. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 8 at breakout box.
  2. When left front window switch is in rest position, battery voltage should exist. When left front window switch is in CLOSE position, less than one volt should exist.
  3. If voltage is as specified and left front window does not close, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace convenience control module. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace left front window switch.
  4. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure resistance between terminals No. 2 and 8 at breakout box.
  5. When left front window switch is in rest position, resistance should be 20,000 ohms. When left front window switch is in CLOSE position, 0-2 ohms should exist.
  6. If resistance is as specified and left front window does not close, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is not as specified, check wiring. If wiring is okay, replace left front window switch.
