Test 18: Right Rear Window Switch Opening Function Circuit

  1. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure rear window safety switch if off. Measure voltage between terminals No. 33 and 38 at breakout box.
  2. When either right rear window switch is in rest position, battery voltage should exist. When either right rear window switch is in OPEN position, less than one volt should exist.
  3. If voltage is as specified and right rear window does not open, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, perform TEST 20  . If rear power window safety switch is okay, replace convenience control module. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. If wiring is okay, replace appropriate right rear window switch.
  4. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect connector "B" from convenience control module, leaving convenience control module harness connector "B" attached to breakout box.
  5. Measure resistance between terminals No. 33 and 38 at breakout box. When either right rear window switch is in rest position, resistance should be 20,000 ohms. When right rear window switch is in OPEN position, 0-2 ohms (at console switch), or 0-3 ohms (at door switch) should exist.
  6. If resistance is as specified and right rear window does not close, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is not as specified, check wiring. If wiring is okay, replace appropriate right rear window switch.
