Test 9: Can H Data Line

  1. Using Adapter (140 589 12 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to combination control module. See Figure. With ignition switch in OFF position. Disconnect PSE control module connectors No. 1 and 3. Disconnect combination control module connector "A". Measure resistance between PSE connector terminal No. 10 and combination control module connector "A", terminal No. 78. Less than one ohm should exist. If resistance is not as specified, check for open circuit in wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay, go to next step.
  2. With ignition OFF, PSE control module and combination control module still disconnected, disconnect ESA control module connector No. 1. See Figure. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 78 at breakout box. Resistance should be greater than 20,000 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check for short to ground in wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay, go to next step.
  3. Measure voltage between terminals No. 4 and 78 at breakout box. Less than one volt should exist. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring for short to power. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
