Task
Maintaining the preselected speed constant irrespective of the engine load, and without operation of the accelerator pedal.
Operation
The cruise control function is integrated in the IFI control module (N3/7). It can be activated from > 40 km/h with the cruise control switch (S40). Actuation is performed directly by the IFI control module (N3/7) to the fuel quantity actuator (Y23/1).
The cruise control mode is switched off by:
- Operating the cruise control switch (S40)
- operating the service brakes
- moving selector lever into position "N"
NOTE:
On vehicles fitted with electronic ignition switch (EIS) the cruise control signals are read in by the EIS control module and transmitted via the CAN databus to the engine control module.
