Electrically-controlled feedback, SPS, function - GF46.50-P-2400A

MODEL 210 with CODE (213a) speed-sensitive power steering

The task of the electronic control of the speed-sensitive power steering (integrated in the ETS, ASR or ESP control module) is to adjust a set hand force (K) at the steering wheel corresponding to the respective vehicle speed.

The vehicle speed determined by the ETS, ASR or ESP control module is assigned a specified current in a performance map. This is then adjusted in the SPS P-valve (proportional solenoid valve) and thus influences the oil flow (hydraulic reaction) within the rack-and-pinion steering.

The SPS P-valve is actuated in cycles. The current control results from the pulse width modulation of this cycling.
