COMPLAINT

Effective September 26, 2006, all warranty repairs concerning Tire Pressure Control must be accompanied by the following printouts from SDS (Software Version 04/2005 and later).

CAUSE

N/A

REMEDY

Connect SDS -> select Vehicle Specific Information -> Main Groups -> Control Units -> Chassis -> TPC-Tire pressure monitor -> Control unit log (Fig 1)

NOTE: Print Instructions: For printing, wait for all information to load and then press F11. Select "printout of test step and select "Print".
NOTE: SEND ORIGINAL PRINTOUTS ONLY! Photocopies will NOT be accepted.
NOTE: In cases where the TPMS wheel sensor residual battery life is six months or less, it is allowed to replace the wheel sensor however the following criteria must be met.

For Siemens systems, it is required to print and include with the returned sensor a copy of the following fault and event code. Any one of the four examples is acceptable but they must be linked together as shown.

  1. 9110 (fault code) plus 9120 (event code)
  2. 9111 (fault code) plus 9121 (event code)
  3. 9112 (fault code) plus 9122 (event code)
  4. 9113 (fault code) plus 9123 (event code)

The time, date and VIN must be visible on all pages. Parts replacement is only authorized in the case of current or stored FAULT CODES as described above and only after the diagnostic step outlined in SDS for the corresponding fault code has been performed. Please remember that repairs claimed will be reimbursed for current or stored FAULT CODES, "Event Codes" alone are not justification for any parts replacement and claims submitted with only Event Codes will be denied.

Adjustment of tire air pressure and activation of TPM is not covered under Warranty and claims submitted for such repairs will be denied.

When the diagnostic codes require replacement of component N88 (Tire Pressure Control Module), it is critical that the fault memory not be erased, failure to comply with the above instructions may result in the warranty claim being debited and the corresponding part(s) returned to the dealer.
