Introduction of Improved Single-Component Windshield/Window Bonding System
An improved single-component bonding system with part number A221 670 81 01 (Fig 1) is now available for bonding windshields and windows. The improved kit is replacing the previous part A221 670 21 01 and has a narrower nozzle with several advantages.
A. ADVANTAGES OF NARROWER NOZZLE
- A narrower nozzle affords easier application and produces a more accurate bead for going around components, such as a center high-mounted brake lamp.
- The yield of the cartridge has been increased by 63 cm and covers all windshield and window scopes. This eliminates the need for a second cartridge.
- There is less soiling in the inner headliner.
B. NEW APPLICATOR STICKS INCLUDE A PRIMER AND AN ACTIVATOR (FIGURE 2)
- New applicator sticks ensure quicker application in a precise width with a reliable one-time use.
- The correct handling of the plastic-covered glass applicator tubes is explained on the package flap (Fig 3).
- The inner glass tube prevents any leaking and the foam cap remains on the plastic covering for the entire process.
C. WAIT TIME AFTER WINDSHIELD OR WINDOW INSTALLATION
- When performing a windshield or window install, wait at least two hours after using the new application kit. This is a reduced wait time from older kits.
