A/C Compressor Cut-Out
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Mercedes-Benz C43, 2000 Mercedes-Benz C280, 1999 Mercedes-Benz C43, and 1999 Mercedes-Benz C280. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The A/C-heater control panel receives a speed signal from the A/C compressor speed sensor. If the A/C compressor is seized or hard to turn, the drive belt is protected by disengaging the A/C compressor. The A/C compressor clutch receives voltage directly from the A/C push button control module (A/C-heater control panel). On diesel models, if throttle is in Wide Open Throttle (WOT) position or engine speed is below 1050 RPM, the A/C compressor is turned off.
